General Practice
I graduated from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1976, and completed my internship at
Parkview Hospital in Toledo, Ohio. In 1977 I began a four-year residency in general surgery in Mt.
Clemens, Michigan near Detroit. In 1981 I started a private practice at Westview Hospital (Indianapolis)
in general surgery. During that time, I was Chief of Staff and also Chairman of the department of surgery.
In 1991 I went into private practice with my sister, Dr. Becky Anderson. In 1995 I joined the staff at the
Damien Center in Indianapolis, where I started a medical clinic for persons with HIV/AIDS. After leaving the
Damien Center, I worked for a year in corporate healthcare management. I soon began to realize that I needed
to return to my true passion: helping and healing patients. I am very pleased to have returned to private practice
where I can do the work that means so much to me.
